The main theme of the Seventh Congress of the EAAERE is “Environment and Sustainable Development: Issues, Challenges, and Solutions.” Although the idea of sustainable development has been implemented in many areas since 1985, the progresses have not been satisfactory and many goals remain elusive. In this Seventh Congress, we invite members and colleagues to share and discuss research findings in all areas related to the environment and sustainable development. We believe the knowledge generated by the efforts of environmental economists will offer more concrete insights and workable solutions to these problems. In addition to the technical and academic interests in environmental economics, the Seventh Congress also likes to encourage discussions on the policy relevance of the research findings, which can make us have a better and deeper understanding of future scenarios as well as the design of policy instruments.

A three-day course that will provide researchers with new quantitative tools necessary for the analysis of various environmental and resource problems from the lens of economics, linking with spatial analysis

Applicants must have basic environmental economics background and research experience, strong background in linear regression analysis, models with limited dependent variable, and panel data, and essentially solid skills in statistical software. Applicants should also be nationals of the following Southeast Asian countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The 3 rd Meeting on Energy and Environmental Economics (ME3) is an international meeting which aims at sharing experiences and results by the Scientific and Business community whose interests are the Economics of Energy and Environment.

This year there will be a special session devoted to Experimental Economics applied to the Energy and Environmental Economics, which will show the use of this tool for interested firms and researchers. Participants may attend a workshop where they may learn to actively use this methodology in our new Experimental Economics Laboratory of the University of Aveiro.

The event will also have scientific sessions and an afternoon of presentations/round tables with firms, whose representatives will discuss the theme: "Is energy efficiency just another cost saving strategy, the differentiation element or the purely Socially Responsible action?"

At the choice of the authors, conference papers might be considered for publication in an issue of Strategic Behaviour and Environment.

Conservation Strategy Fund (CSF)

Countries are now seeking ways to implement the new Agenda 2030, where water management is a central component. Evidence-based policy making is key to transparent and accountable water management, and economic analysis can contribute significantly to water policy design and decision making. Economic instruments have the potential to perform several water management functions, but need careful design and appropriate institutional framework to gain public acceptance and achieve the intended policy goals. Taking place during 2016 World Water Week, this policy-science workshop seeks to attract water policymakers, practitioners, and researchers in the field of water economics.

Deadline for paper submission is 25 May 2016. Acceptance letters will be sent in June 2016. Only full papers will be considered for evaluation.

The main theme of the 6th EAAERE Congress is "Green Economy and Sustainable Development for All". The year 2015 is memorable in that the Paris Accord under the UNFCCC and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development under the UN General Assembly was adopted beyond the conventional North-South view to require action from all nations. Nonetheless, many nations are still struggling with the transition toward a green economy. This Congress hopes to be a venue for the discussion of various issues related to sustainable development and green economy, including policy instruments, future scenarios, transition management, international cooperation and regime.

Ecosystem Services Partnership (ESP)
