EEPSEA studies provide a wealth of knowledge and information that should be considered in environmental and natural resource management decision-making in the region. Hence, on 8-10 March 2014, EEPSEA invited 15 researchers from 7 countries (Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam) to a writeshop to generate teaching case study materials, based on issues and findings contained in their research.
The goal is to produce instructional materials that highlight the tradeoffs that need to be made when deciding how natural resources will be used as well as the complex issues surrounding decisions involving these resources. The materials are intended for courses with policymakers and natural resource managers as participants. Dr. Eduardo Araral of Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore facilitated the discussions and the preparation of the case study instructional materials.
A compilation of these case studies will be made available through one of EEPSEA’s future publications.
