Description
The main theme of the Fifth Congress of the EAAERE is “Green Economy and Sustainable Development.” Although the idea of sustainable development has been implemented in many areas since 1985, the progress has not been satisfactory. We may need to formulate another plan of action to guide future progress. At the Conference on Sustainable Development held by the United Nations in Rio 2012, the attendants agreed that implementing a green economy was the pathway to sustainable development and poverty eradication. However, many unanswered questions still must be tackled before we can successfully transit from the current brown economy to a green one.
