EEPSEA trained 24 researchers in conducting field experiments related to cooperation and risk/uncertainty, linking them to resource management and climate change adaptation in the real world. The participants of this course on Experimental Method and Resource Economics came from eight countries in SEA (i.e., Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam). The course was held in Penang, Malaysia last 5-8 August 2014.
The course was facilitated by Dr. Miriam Hadness, of the Vietnamese German University in Ho Chi Minh City, and Dr. Pham Khanh Nam, EEPSEA Deputy Director for Research and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Development Economics at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. The course combined classroom lectures with in-class field experiments for participants to learn some basic knowledge on field experiments and protocols in conducting certain types of experiments.
