EEPSEA Supports Course to Sustain its Capacity Building Initiatives in the Future

To better ensure the sustainability of its capacity building initiatives after 2016, EEPSEA sponsored a course for 13 of its university-based researchers from seven countries (i.e., Lao PDR, Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia). The course, held last 22-25 September 2014 in Manila, was facilitated by Dr. Marianne Quebral, Asian Institute of Management’s Vice President for Institutional Advancement. EEPSEA Director Dr. Herminia A. Francisco, WorldFish Regional Director for Asia Dr. Maripaz L. Perez, and four other staff members from the WorldFish Philippine-Country Office also participated in the course discussion.

The course focused on how to conduct donor mapping and tips on how to best package grant proposals for submission to possible donors to fund environmental economics research and capacity building initiatives in the future. The course aims to support plans to establish EEPSEA Alumni Associations in the participants’ respective countries.
